Институт ЋМахон ГолдЛ

На протяжении четырех десятилетий институт ЋМахон ГолдЛ помогает найти свой путь сотням еврейских девушек со всего мира, знакомит их с жизнью Израиля, прививает любовь к еврейскому народу и Торе. В домашней теплой атмосфере студентки из разных стран совместно изучают историю евреев, знакомятся с перспективами развития религиозного сионизма, задумываются о своем и нашем общем будущем.

Проект ЋМасаЛ оказывает поддержку институту ЋМахон ГолдЛ в создании программы, предназначенной специально для русскоязычных еврейских девушек, готовых жить и учиться в Израиле год, сохраняя при этом статус туристок (т. е. без оформления в качестве новых репатрианток), и не намеренных принимать судьбоносное решение, не ознакомившись прежде с жизнью в Стране Израиля и обычаями еврейского народа. На протяжении этого времени в спокойной и располагающей атмосфере девушки будут встречаться с жителями страны, изучать иврит, готовиться к поступлению в университет, привыкать к израильскому образу жизни. По окончании учебы перед ними откроются самые разнообразные перспективы.

Учеба

Цель программы - предоставить каждой студентке возможность учиться и жить в соответствии с еврейской традицией, подготовить ее к возможному продолжению академической учебы в Израиле.

Четырнадцать часов в неделю отводятся на изучение иврита; в программу занятий входят также знакомство с Торой, еврейскими традициями, философией, календарем, сионизмом, историей и другими дисциплинами, занятия английским языком. Для девушек разработан интенсивный курс подготовки к психометрическому экзамену для поступления в университет.

По требованию студенток может быть открыт специальный педагогический курс, в ходе которого они ознакомятся с навыками управления, основами психологии и научатся давать уроки в рамках общеобразовательной школы.

Занятия проходят на русском языке и - в зависимости от уровня студенток - на иврите.

Экскурсии

Чтобы предоставить студенткам возможность познакомиться с нашей прекрасной страной и различными слоями населения, в рамках учебного процесса институт проводит множество экскурсий по всему Израилю.

Продолжительность одной экскурсии - от нескольких часов до трех дней. Мы не сомневаемся, что по прошествии года каждая девушка освоится в Израиле и почувствует глубокую связь с нашей страной.

Общежитие

Институт ЋМахон ГолдЛ находится в самом сердце Израиля - древнем Иерусалиме, в спокойном и красивом районе Старый Катамон.

* Комнаты общежития рассчитаны на 2-4 студенток.

* Студентки обеспечиваются трехразовым питанием па протяжении всей недели (в том числе, и по субботам).

* Воспитатели также живут в общежитии и готовы в любое время оказать девушкам посильную помощь в решении различных проблем.

* В распоряжении студенток (за отдельную плату) - стиральная машина и электросушилка для белья.

* Здание общежития охраняется круглосуточно.

* Каждая студентка получает ежемесячно деньги на карманные расходы.

* Образ жизни в ЋМахон ГолдЛ религиозный, поэтому на протяжении года каждая студентка должна быть одета скромно, как в стенах института, так и за его пределами, в соответствии с установленными в нем правилами.

По субботам

Субботы, которые отмечают студентки и преподаватели института, в течение года проводятся по разному.

Суббота в институте. Студентки и преподаватели отмечают ее вместе в помещении института.

Суббота вне стен института. Студентки и преподаватели выезжают в поселение, кибуц, другой город или на семинар и др. Подобные субботы предлагают прекрасную возможность ознакомиться с новыми интересными людьми и разнообразной культурной жизнью Израиля.

Суббота в семьях. Каждая студентка проводит субботу в семье, которая помогает ей адаптироваться к израильским условиям. Нелегко жить вдали от дома, и поэтому такая семья помогает пережить стресс, вызванный разлукой с родными. Мы надеемся, что по окончании программы эта связь будет продолжена и окрепнет. И если девушка примет решение остаться в Израиле, она всегда найдет поддержку в домашнем кругу среди добрых друзей.

Свободная суббота. Студентки могут остаться в институте ЋМахон ГолдЛ или поехать к своим друзьям и родственникам.

Личный патронаж

На протяжении целого года администрация института готова помочь студенткам решать как вопросы, связанные с учебным процессом, так и личные проблемы.

В конце учебного года проводятся консультации для тех девушек, которые пожелают остаться в Израиле, а также собеседования с каждой относительно ее дальнейших перспектив (учеба в университете, альтернативная гражданская служба шерут леумит и т. д.). Институт продолжит поддерживать связь с девушками, которые решат репатриироваться, инструктировать их и помогать им по мере возможности.

Для кого предназначена программа

Программа рассчитана на девушек в возрасте от 18 до 22 лет, которые

а) хотят прибыть в Израиль в качестве туристок на срок в один год для учебы;

б) окончили среднюю школу;

в) являются дочерьми евреек;

г) стремятся больше узнать об Израиле и хотят пожить в этой удивительной стране.

Процесс записи для участия в программе

Для участия в программе необходимо:

* заполнить бланк для записи в институт ЋМахон ГолдЛ.

* пройти встречу-собеседование с представителем института ЋМахон ГолдЛ.

Machon Gold has hosted students from the former Soviet Union for over 15 years. Initially, these students were trained as teachers at Machon Gold returning to their communities as educators and leaders. In recent years, the focus has changed. There has been a sharp increase in educational facilities available in the former Soviet Union. The talents of our students are best served here in Israel. They spend a year at Machon Gold as preparation for life in Israel. Machon Gold is the first step in their journey as new immigrants. 1. A Students Perspective: Life in Machon Gold Today- Rosa Gluzman Student 5765/2004-2005

Life in the former Soviet Union has changed dramatically since the start of Machon Gold's program for Russian students. Currently, most students arriving at Machon have some sort of Jewish background and may even have come from Jewish schools, but most of them never received anything more than a basic Jewish education and were not raised in religious Jewish homes. The spiritual atmosphere and the serious study of Torah that Machon Gold offers to its students are of tremendous importance to these young women. Through the devotion of their teachers, madrichot, and adopted families (for the year) the students develop a stronger feeling of love towards Judaism and Eretz Israel.

The young women from Russia and other former Soviet republics are not in Israel for a year program. They are making aliya. Machon Gold helps them throughout this tough process, fights the Israeli bureaucracy, and supports them in many ways by offering a comfortable place to begin their new lives in Israel, and most importantly teaching them how to be Jewish in the Jewish Land.

The program includes the study of Torah, Halacha (including Shabbat, Kashrut, and Taharat Hamishpacha), the Chagim, and Tefilla. The step by step awakening to their Jewish identity and their growing connection to Torah and Mitzvot is amazing to observe. Numerous tiyulim throughout the year organized by Machon Gold help the students to appreciate their new home more and understand its importance to the Jewish people. For most of the young women it is their first time in Israel, and tiyulim are a unique and essential experience.

Along with their Jewish studies, the students in Machon are privileged to attend a Hebrew ulpan that is considered to be one of the best in the country. There is also an option of starting studies for a degree in computers or accounting at the Jerusalem College of Technology.

In the course of the year students develop strong connections with their teachers, madrichot and adopted families. This connection doesn't end with the conclusion of the program. As the year of study nears completion, Machon Gold helps the students from the former Soviet Union determine their life plans. Whatever path they choose, they know that they can count on the support of the Machon Gold family to help.   

The doors of Machon Gold are constantly opened to Russian speaking students! Machon Gold stays in contact with alumni for years after they leave in fact some of our teachers are alumni of this program.

2. Alumni Achievements: What have they been doing since they left Machon Gold?

1998

Marina Elikishvili - In a small school of about 100 students in Tblissi, Machon graduates have been the sole staff (with the exception of one rabbi) for the last 4-5 years. They taught Judaic studies and Hebrew. Marina taught first grade in this school. On Sundays she gave Hebrew classes to adults

Stella Raytsen -  Lvov has a small Jewish community of about 7,000 Jews. There is one school and no shlichim with the exception of one American family. Stella was the only Hebrew and Judaic studies teacher in the entire city. She taught various grades in the school.

Sabina Salimova-Organized a group of adults from the Tblissi community that met in her home weekly. Sabina taught them Hebrew and Judaic studies.

Elmira Salimova- Taught Hebrew in an Ulpan in Tblissi run by the Jewish Agency. The class consisted of a group of about ten 18-20 year olds. In addition, she gave classes in Judaic studies.

Elizaveta Iosfina - Taught a group of elderly people in St. Petersburg through the "Chesed L'Avraham" organization. She gave classes on Jewish tradition, holidays and Jewish History. In addition, she was a Hebrew teacher in the "Migdal Ohr" school for girls and taught grades 9-11.

Irma Egorova- Taught a  group of about 10 teenagers Hebrew and Jewish studies. (Tblissi) In addition, she organized Shabbatot with the group. The group prayed Kabbalat Shabbat, ate together and she gave classes in Jewish studies throughout the Shabbat.

Victoria Hassidofsky- Victoria was unable to finish the program in '98. She successfully completed the program in June of 2000. She is now arranging shlichut to the former Soviet Union.

1999

 Bella Manachimova - Bella returned to Tashkent where she works in the Jewish School "Or Avner" run by the Education Ministry and Chabad. She teaches grades six through eleven every day with the exception of Fridays. (25 hours weekly) . She is also solely responsible for the all youth activities in the synagogue. She develops, organizes and runs programming on Sundays for grades 8-11. In addition, she runs seminars for the Jewish Agency in leadership training and Jewish Identity. Once a week, she leads a discussion group for Jewish teens (aged 16-18) on Jewish tradition. She has also taught Hebrew in a Jewish Agency Ulpan.

 Ariella Lomkina - Taught grades 8-11 in Lycee Day School in Kharkov. She taught Judaic Studies and Hebrew. She also helped organize and run the NCSY summer camps in Kharkov. She ran programs for college age students and gave classes on Judaism and the importance of Israel. She was a counselor in the "Ohr Channa" summer program for 17-19 year old girls run by the Jewish Agency.

Inna Shamilova - Taught Hebrew in the Jewish Agency Ulpan in Nalchik. She taught students of various ages. She recently made Aliya.

Olga Sokolova - For two years Olga was the sole educator in Petoropalviles Compchatka, a town with approximately 1000 Jews. Olga helped organize and run a Sunday school. She was in charge of the moadon noar - the youth activity center and gave numerous classes in Hebrew and Jewish education. In a place with no other Jewish educator with more than 20 hours of formal training, Olga quickly became a dynamic force that helped shape the community. (It is 1,500 km to the next major Jewish center)

Sophia Krupitskaya - Worked in the "Ohel Menachem" school in Rostov. She taught Judaic Studies and Hebrew to elementary school children as well as High school. Sophia served as the translator for shlichim who came to Rostov. In addition, Sophia privately tutored a boy in Judaic studies. She also gave private lessons to adults in Hebrew.

Olga Litinetsky- Works in the Ohr Sameach center in Odessa. She gives classes to children and teenagers in Judaic topics. She is also learning in University.

Maryna Khersonka - Worked for two years in a small school near Kharkov. Gave classes to grades 8 - 11.  Recently made Aliya with family. Has a plan to go to nursing school in Israel.

Masha Zagoruyko - Taught at the "Ohr Sameach" school in Odessa. Her job was to tutor newer students  in Hebrew. Once they were ready, they could be mainstreamed in regular classes. She is now at Michlelet Emuna in Yerushalayim.

Miriam Ludmirskaya -  Taught Hebrew and Judaic Studies to 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade children in the Chabad school "Simcha" in Kiev. Each class consisted of approximately 30 children. In addition, she ran Judaic classes for the older students (grades 5-6). Miriam also taught Hebrew and Judaic studies at the Sunday school set up for the parents. Alina gave adult education classes at the "299" school (Bleich). She has just made aliya and is currently a counselor at Tzifonot, a program for girls who have made aliya from the former Soviet Union. 

2000

Alina Kazakevich - For the past four years, Machon Gold graduates have been active in all aspects of youth education in Gomel. A town of 8,000 Jews, there are few, if any educators with formal training. Alina works in the kindergarten and is the full time co-coordinator of ALL youth activities through the Ezra Youth Movement. The youth movement has chapters in Gomel, Babrusk, Brest and Borisov. Each chapter has approximately 25 members ranging in age from 11 to 25.  Alina is responsible to insure that weekly activities take place, that holidays are taught and celebrated and that every Shabbat a Kabbalat Shabbat program takes place. In addition she spends one Shabbat a month at each place, where she gives classes in Yahadut. Shlichim that come are referred to Alina who arranges food, lodging and translation for them. In addition, Alina volunteers at "Chesed" - a program for the elderly where she teaches Hebrew songs.
