Tips Determine the Length of Necklaces and Bracelets.
Here’s the tips to determine length of necklaces and bracelets:
1. Determine the type of necklace / bracelet desired
2. Estimates of length and circumference of the bracelet of adults:
* Small / Medium = 18 cm-19cm, Medium-Large = 20-21cm.
* Children: Small = 11-13cm. Medium = 15cm
But if you want to make according to your size, you can measure your wrist circumference, and add 1.5-2cm. This figure is the length of bracelet you want.
3. Determine the exit end of the range of techniques and cover you want to use (clasp). In general, cover necklace / bracelet with a split ring has a length of 1.5 to 2.5 cm when installed, depending on the size of the clasp that you use.
4. On termination technique with a crimp bead without bead tip, add a length of rope up to 7cm long you want. (Used this formula: desired necklace length – long clasp + 7 cm).
Suppose the desired length = 43cm. Clasp = 2 cm long. Wire is required is 43cm – 2 cm + 7 cm = 48 cm. 7 cm is the tolerance required for the process of termination of a necklace like the technique B.3. Some went back into the series, and some trimmed at the stage of completion. Figures for this tolerance would be minimized if you are already quite adept at this technique.
5. On termination technique with a bead tip, bead measuring the results of a series of Tip-clasp-bead tip. (On average I take the design up to 2.5 cm in size). Subtract this measure from the length you want. Add 1 to 1.5 cm from the size you get. For example: the desired length of necklace = 43cm, length of bead tip – clasp-bead tip = 2.5 cm. Wire length required = 43 to 2.5 + 1.5 = 42 cm. 1 to 1.5 cm is the tolerance given to replace the long string inside the bead tip and is wasted.
